Wildlife Tours In Africa

We are  a premier safari outfitter of superlative experiences that delight new wilderness explorers and reveal the unknown to even the most experienced of “Africantrotter”. We not only know Africa – she is our home. When you join us in bush discovery, you see her through the eyes of her children, her families and others who see her as a beloved land. Our safaris go beyond showing you the most popular parks and reserves. We open your eyes to the diversity of her landscapes, creatures and indigenous peoples.

Each safari is tailored to the individual preferences of each guest, including special budgetary considerations that are integrated into our proprietary Safari Tier System. We take you to locations that give you wildlife experiences that most African tourists only imagine. We stand apart from other safari companies because we take a hands-on approach to giving you the best possible African bush safari time and time again. We understand the challenges of coordinating travel in Africa, so we anticipate every hindrance and take steps to minimize and avoid any delays or challenges that will affect your experience. AfricanMecca offers exceptional safaris in three distinct areas of Africa – Southern, Eastern and Central. Many of Africa’s grand creatures can be found in all three areas. The differences lie in the type of terrain, habitats, overall feel, wildlife diversity and concentrations, climate and other aspects. We simplify your trip by understanding how each of these factors affect guest experience and planning accordingly.

Southern Africa includes such unspoiled destinations as Okavango Delta, Linyanti, Etosha, Sossusvlei, South Luangwa to Chobe, Victoria Falls, Lower Zambezi, Mana Pools, Matobo Hills, Hwange, Phinda, Madikwe, Kruger and Sabi Sand, well-known destinations for seeing the Big Five. Additionally, Botswana and Zimbabwe are home to approximately 80% of the elephant population in Southern Africa. In Eastern Africa, Kenya and Tanzania are pioneer wildlife destinations, primarily due to the Great Migration in Serengeti National Park and Masai Mara National Reserve, to name only two of the first-class parks and reserves that protect diverse fauna and flora. East Africa, though, is also known for diverse landscapes that include rolling hills, seemingly endless plains, Great Rift Valley and the idyllic beaches along the Indian Ocean. Other significant destinations include Laikipia, Lake Nakuru, Amboseli, Samburu, Lake Manyara, Selous, Ngorongoro Crater and Tarangire, and many, many more (read more on the best time to visit Africa). To escape the high visitor levels in these popular places, AfricanMecca Safaris recommends the pristine bush country of private conservancies, as well as Chyulu Hills, Lewa, Katavi, Mahale and Ruaha. You can even observe one of the most precious and threatened species on the planet – mountain gorillas in Rwanda and Uganda. Gorillas can also be found in the Democratic Republic of Congo in Central Africa.

Africa is home to many of the biosphere’s most glorious and majestic creatures. No matter where you go on the continent, you are assured of once-in-a-lifetime wildlife, cultural and historic experiences – from tracking heart-pounding hoofing thunders of the wildebeest migration to watching the antics of wild chimpanzees as you trek the mountains of Mahale and Gombe or even the forests of Kibale. Leisurely adventures await while canoeing on Momella Lakes near Mount Meru, Savute Channel and Okavango Delta, alongside seeing huge families of Botswana’s elephants while boating in Chobe. Tour by foot in the wildness of South Luangwa in Zambia and follow the ancient footsteps of early man at Koobi Fora and Ol Duvai Gorge. Discover other relics of human history, such as the world’s best-preserved rock art in Zimbabwe and the olden slave trade routes of Bagamoyo, Zanzibar and Lamu. Challenge your endurance with treks up Mount Kilimanjaro, hiking at the still-active Ol Donyo Lengai volcano, mountain biking in the Ngorongoro Highlands and immersing yourself in utter isolation in the Kalahari Desert and Sossusvlei dunes of Namibia. Evoke your inner explorer by camping on the rim of Ngorongoro Crater and gazing across the wonders of the Great Rift Valley Lakes of Natron, Bogoria and Naivasha.

Feel your spirit soar as you cross the golden plains expanses of Serengeti and Masai Mara aloft in a hot air balloon .Track the Big 7 in South Africa, and witness the last remaining mountain gorillas in Bwindi, Virunga and Volcanoes Parks. Experience utter romance nestled in a treetop hideaway near Victoria Falls with the sound of the Zambezi River lulling you to sleep. See Africa through the eyes of Hemingway, and savor the mouthwatering flavors of South African wines at Franschhoek, Stellenbosch and Paarl near Cape Town. Wander along tranquil beaches of the Indian Ocean before journeying into the starkly contrasted Skeleton Coast.

Along the way, your authentic African ethnic vacation includes meeting some of the many native tribes who call Africa home – Maasai in Kenya and Tanzania, Chewa in Malawi, Himba of Namibia, Swahilis of the East African Coast, San Bushmen in Kalahari, Zulus in South Africa, Bemba in Zambia and Twa Pygmies in Rwanda, Congo and Uganda.
